Our Pledge

NHS Education for Scotland works hard to deliver high-quality training and education for all. As an organisation, we have reflected on the high prevalence of lived experience of sexual misconduct among doctors in training and are committed to ensuring meaningful change.

We have agreed to commit to the following pledge:

  1. We will actively work to eradicate sexual harassment and abuse in the workplace.
  2. We will promote a culture that fosters openness and transparency and does not tolerate unwanted, harmful or inappropriate behaviours, including sexual misconduct.
  3. We will work with the wider organisation and our partners to ensure reporting systems are transparent, fair and accountable and that doctors have confidence in.
  4. We will continue to work to ensure appropriate, specific, and clear training is in place to identify these behaviours, promote active bystanders and to support those involved in disclosures.
