Criteria

For Initial Recognition

Undergraduate Teachers must meet the requirements for their Medical School role.

Postgraduate Trainers must satisfy the Minimum Standards for Recognition. Namely:

  • Evidence of 'Induction' training for the role
  • Appropriate time in their job-plan for the role
  • Equality & Diversity training must be up-to-date and in line with Employer requirements. (see Trainers: Initial Recognition process for more detail)

For Continuing / ongoing Recognition

Postgraduate Named Clinical Supervisors must satisfy the requirements of the Academy of
Medical Educators' (AoME) competency framework: areas 1 - 4 & 7

All other Teachers and Trainers must satisfy the all seven areas of the Academy of Medical
Educators' competency framework.
