The Centre seeks to support all dental professionals in any way it can to facilitate their development within their professions.
Training provided:
Within our exceptional, modern facilities we have three to six comfortable and flexible training rooms, which can be quickly reconfigured to meet a range of needs, a superbly equipped clinical skills area with twelve phantom heads and individual audio visual screens, a training surgery and decontamination and sterilisation facilities, an IT suite with 15 workstations and a large and exceptionally well equipped lecture hall.
Aberdeen Dental Education Centre was opened in October 2006 as part of the Aberdeen Dental Institute, which comprises the Argyll Dental Practice, the Aberdeen Dental Outreach Centre, Aberdeen Dental School & Hospital and the Aberdeen Dental Education Centre. The Institute is situated on the Foresterhill site and houses specialist services in Restorative Dentistry and Orthodontics. Maxillofacial Surgery remains a short distance away in the main hospital building.
The Centre seeks to foster good relationships with the other parties in the Institute as a whole. Close links with the students of Aberdeen Dental School and those who are here on Outreach from Dundee have already been formed and will be developed increasingly as time goes by.
