All Medical ACT funding received by health boards requires to be spent in accordance with the NES guidelines for the use of Medical ACT funding.
Approval for the use of any additional Medical ACT allocations received by health boards needs to be given by the relevant Regional Group and details submitted to NES.
Any non-recurring funding available in year whether generated locally or distributed by NES also requires to be compliant with the NES guidelines for the use of Medical ACT funding.
Where there are reductions in ACT funding, Boards should seek to generate efficiency savings to offset any deficit where possible but any plans to discontinue an ACT funded activity should be shared with the Regional Group in advance.
