Internal medicine training stage 1
Simulation training programme

Welcome to the new webpage for trainees in Internal Medicine Stage 1.

Simulation-based medical education is a proven methodology for delivery of medical training. It is particularly effective when used for the development and refinement of practical skills, as well as behavioural skills such as decision-making and teamworking.

A new curriculum for Internal Medicine Stage 1 launched in August 2019.  For the first time, the curriculum contains explicit mention of simulation training and its potential role in achieving technical competence for IM procedures, as well as the value of scenario-based immersive training.

We have recently launched the IMT Simulation Training Zone on Turas which is regularly updated with training dates and booking information.

Contact: Please direct any IMT Simulation enquiries to IMTSimulation@nes.scot.nhs.uk
