RCPE Diabetes & Endocrinology Symposium

Course/Event Date: Thursday, October 6, 2022

Course/Event Duration: 1 Day

Course/Event Description

Diabetes and endocrinology are true multisystem specialties benefiting from multidisciplinary team care. We hope this symposium programme will appeal to a broad spectrum of health care professionals and students working in primary and secondary care.

The morning sessions will focus on diabetes, including presentations from experts in cardiology and renal medicine on new uses for diabetes drugs in heart failure and chronic kidney disease.  Other hot topics being covered include:

  • foot disease
  • interpretation of continuous glucose monitoring data
  • transition of care in young people
  • bariatric surgery

The afternoon sessions will be dedicated to endocrinology, and will include the keynote lecture from Professor Richard Ross, “Innovations in endocrinology: improving diagnosis and cortisol replacement in adrenal insufficiency “ as well as great practical tips on:

  • Endocrine complications from immunotherapies
  • pubertal induction in delayed puberty
  • hypertensive emergencies
  • patients undergoing adrenalectomy
  • transgender patients’ hormone treatment

We do hope you register and join us on the day either in-person or online.
