Course/Event Description

Our new short course will offer a focus on the latest updates and practical advice for assessing and managing cardiovascular risk. The course will provide clinicians with an overview on current evidence base for managing hypertension and hypercholesterolaemia and tackling cardiovascular risk in special patient groups. Our expert faculty will discuss:

  • How to manage challenges around the management of resistant hypertension
  • How to effectively use biomarkers to support clinical decisions when assessing cardiovascular risk
  • Provide an update on novel lipid management therapies
  • How to manage cardiovascular risk in special patient populations such as frail patients, those undergoing non-cardiac surgery
  • Decisions on anticoagulation for atrial fibrillation in high-risk patients
