64th St Andrew's Day Festival Symposium: Updates on Acute Medicine

Course/Event Date: Thursday, November 28, 2024

Course/Event Duration: 2 Days

Course/Event Description

The St. Andrew's Day Symposium has a well established reputation for delivering high quality updates in acute and general medicine that are engaging, informative and make the audience reflect.

This year's aims to educate, as well as stimulate thinking about the way we deliver healthcare.  Why we do it and how we might improve.

  • With an acute medicine lens we explore the boundaries between acute medicine and critical care in one session, then focus on how to manage patients in a non-hospital setting and our interface with the community
  • With a global perspective we look at acute medicine in Bangladesh, refugee medicine and how to deliver sustainability
  • We also aim to reflect on sustainability as practitioners with a keynote lecture on the future for the NHS, and one on moral distress
  • Common clinical problems will be addressed as well covering rheumatology, ophthalmology, haematology, neurology and infectious diseases
  • The ever popular 'cases that changed my practice' have a diverse panel of interesting and compelling speakers

This symposium can be enjoyed online or in person, with the opportunity to catch up with colleagues and make new friends. The symposium welcomes medics of any grade as well as allied health professionals, including nursing and pharmacy colleagues.
