Anaesthesia as Adjuvant Therapy in Breast Cancer Management

he Scottish Perioperative Medicine Society (SPOMS) will be hosting  a series of free online webinars on a range of perioperative medicine topics.

 

January's topic will be focused on perioperative management of breast cancer patients with an exciting talk by Dr. Claire Rutherford entitled “Anaesthesia as Adjuvant Therapy in Breast Cancer Management”. 

 

Dr. Claire Rutherford is an oncoplastic breast surgeon in St Vincent’s University Hospital in Dublin. She completed her core surgical training and registrar training in the west of Scotland. She did a fellowship in Singapore and St Bart’s in London and was awarded the FRCS Gold medal and GB Ong Medal. Her main interests are partial reconstruction using breast reduction approaches called mammoplasties as well as chest wall perforator flaps. She loves teaching and has a clinical lecturer role at university college Dublin (UCD) medical school. 

 

The webinar will be held online via Zoom on Monday, the 26th of January 2026 at 19:00.
