QRPs

(Quality Review Panel)

QRP takes place for each specialty group, where all data for previous year is reviewed and panel makes decision on where any action is required: e.g. recognition of good practice, further enquiry, triggered visit.

GMC Trainee and Trainer Surveys

Surveys open towards end of March and close at beginning of May.

GMC Survey Results

Results published end June / beginning July.

Training Programme Director Reports

TPDs are required to complete reports for Deanery commenting on GMC Survey results etc. for their programme.   Key data source for QRP.

Director of Medical Education Reports

DMEs are required to complete reports for Deanery commenting on GMC Survey results etc. for their Board. Key data source for QRP.

Quality Management Visits

QM Visits will be organised throughout this period (scheduled and triggered). TPDs should receive at least 8 weeks notice of a triggered visit, and 12 weeks for a scheduled visit.

STS

(Scottish Trainee Survey)

STS runs at various points throughout the year, surveying trainees at the end of each post.

STS Dashboard

STS results are available to TPDs at any point in the year, via QIMs; but a ‘RAG’ report based on 12 months-worth of data is produced every July.

Deanery Report to GMC

The Deanery provides continuous reporting to the GMC via online Deanery Report (this replaces previous annual report submitted each October).

SQMGs

(Specialty Quality Management Group)

There is an SQMG for each specialty group, they meet every two months.

Specialty Annual Reviews 

Annual meeting between Specialty Quality Management team and Quality Workstream Leads.
