Dear Colleagues
I am delighted to advise that NES have supported Phase III Scottish Medical Education Research Consortium (SMERC) funding. The SMERC Project Board have agreed to assign this to various funding opportunities, these include PhD, Large Grant, Small Grant and Seed Funding.
There are no preconceptions as to what SMERC will fund although our funding ceiling means we cannot fund both a Large Grant and a PhD fellowship in any one round. Many Small Grants may be awarded rather than one large one, or instead of a PhD Fellowship. As always, all applications will be reviewed on merit and decisions will be based on the quality of each proposal.
Key dates: application closing date Friday 9th June 2023, funding notification mid August 2023 and projects to commence October 2023.
Please cascade this information to everyone you know in Scotland who has an interest in medical education research. Information available at http://www.scotlanddeanery.nhs.scot/your-development/scottish-medical-education-research-consortium-smerc/funding-opportunities/
