Dear Colleague,
The Academy of Medical Educators are collaborating once again with the International Network for Health Workforce Education (INHWE) to bring you a 2-day international conference in 2025.
Learning Together for Clinical Excellence will take place at The Open University, Milton Keynes, UK on 14-15 May 2025.
Today, patients are rarely looked after by just one health professional, and in the context of a complex healthcare system, effective teamworking and interprofessional learning is essential for the delivery of effective and patient-centred care. We are excited to be working with INHWE again to bring you this joint two-day conference that will provide an excellent opportunity for us and our delegates to strengthen links and learn from diverse healthcare professions to establish new ways of working together.
This conference is one of the best opportunities for educators across the health professions to come together to share good practice, the latest innovations in healthcare education, as well as for networking, academic collaboration, and professional development.
Abstract submission is now open.
The Academy of Medical Educators is particularly interested in abstracts around activity where there has been an interprofessional learning approach with demonstrated improvement in healthcare, but welcomes submissions of all interests for posters, short presentations and 60-minute workshops.
Themes include:

The Academy of Medical Educators (AoME), established in 2006, is a charitable organisation which exists to advance medical education for the benefit of the public. It is the professional organisation for all those involved in the training and education of medical students, dental students, veterinary students, physician associates, doctors, dentists and veterinary surgeons. The Academy is the standard setting body for medical educators in the UK. Its Professional Standards define the level of competence that medical educators should achieve at each point in their careers. The Standards provide a recognised framework for professionals to demonstrate expertise in medical education through accreditation as a medical teacher. Recognition by AoME demonstrates skills and competence when applying for revalidation, promotion and approval as a trainer. The Academy has over 1100 members across the UK and beyond, who benefit from: access to a network of medical educators at every level of career progression; regular newsletters, mailings and updates via the online community; a programme of academic meetings and events, including the annual Calman Lecture and national conferences; Developing Medical Educators Group; AoME awards and prizes, and support in applications for national and local awards.
We would be grateful if you would share with your colleagues and networks.
The Academy Team,
Academy of Medical Educators
