Animated Training Resources: Conversations about Death, Dying and Bereavement

NHS Education for Scotland has recently launched five new short animated films for healthcare professionals. Each animation deals with a different topic related to resuscitation, death, dying, end of life care and bereavement.

They are all openly accessible on the Support around Death website and Turas Learn but are not designed to be used or viewed by the lay public, including patients, relatives or carers.

The resources address topics that are less commonly covered in training and aim to fill identified gaps in the availability of suitable educational materials for healthcare professionals. These new films join others including Discussing Dying, Talking to Children who are Bereaved and Discussing Authorised (Hospital) Post Mortem Examination which have previously been launched.

Each animation is accompanied on the Support around Death website by a downloadable leaflet of key learning points.
