DDEC, Conference Centre,
The Dundee Dental Education Centre was established in 2006 as a tri-partite initiative, bringing together NES, NHS Tayside and the University of Dundee. SQA accredited, DDEC is a centre of excellence for postgraduate and undergraduate dental education and research.
Facilities include
- 38 chair clinical skills laboratory
- Suite of fully AV equipped training rooms that can accommodate meeting and events from 2 - 90
- IT suite with 9 computer workstations
- Video conferencing
- Hot desk facility
Education and research programmes provided include
- Continuing professional development for the whole dental team including post-qualifications for Dental Nurses
- Vocational training for newly qualified Dentists
- Hospital training for Dental Senior House Officers
- Pre-registration Dental Nurse training
- Scottish Dental Clinical Effectiveness Programme (SDCEP) - Guidance development
- Scottish Dental Practice Based Research Network (SDPBRN)
- Translation Research in a Dental Setting (TRiaDS)
